BI Developer

Job description

As a BI Developer, you will be translating data that we gather to attractive, understandable and informative reports and dashboards. These are being used by Effectory's Consultants to analyze the results of the employee survey so that they can translate this into advice. This is Effectory's core business process, and you are delivering an important contribution to this. The clients use our reports to dive deeper into the results and learn more about what their employees think and feel. But, besides that, you're also building reports with management information that shows (realtime) sales and forecast information.

Effectory is Europe's market leader in the field of employee feedback research and we work for a lot of major companies with ten thousands of employees. Over the years we've built a rich data warehouse that contains a lot of relevant data. Part of your tasks and responsibilities is maintaining this data warehouse, mapping external data sources and making sure that all the data that we gather is loaded properly (ETL) in the data warehouse. Our dwh is still running on-premise at the moment, but we want to go towards a cloud-based solution, probably Azure. There are a lot of choices to be made for this project, you will also be involved in this.

As a BI Developer, you are part of team Analytics, which contains two other BI Developers and three People Analytics specialists. Together you own everything that is data related within Effectory.

Your tasks & responsibilities

  • Data Modelling;
  • Data Visualization
    * Developing Employee feedback reports and dashboards;
    * Developing Management Information reports and dashboards;
  • Maintaining the data warehouse and helping with bringing this to the cloud;
  • Maintaining and optimizing the ETL process;
  • Improving the way we deliver data to clients;
  • Automating workflows;
  • Research new technology and spot opportunities for optimizing our current architecture.

PowerBI, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, SQL, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft Azure platform.

We're looking to expand the team with someone who has at least 2 or 3 years of relevant experience. But years of experience is not the most important thing for us, it's about the match between the knowledge and experience you bring, with what we need. For us, it's a good match if you have a few years of experience with data visualization and data modeling, preferably using PowerBI, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS. Making and reviewing complex queries using T-SQL should not a problem for you since you've done this a lot of times. It would be great if you have a good understanding of data warehousing and if you're familiar with ETL. We would be very happy if you have experience with migrating legacy systems to the cloud with the latest techniques, but this is not a must. It's also a plus if you have developed BI solutions for external clients before.

*For this position it is not required that you speak fluently Dutch, but it is required that you are currently living in the Netherlands.
